Roav 101: What is Roav, and what's it for?

Good question! In the simplest terms possible, Roav is a power machine: it generates, banks, and distributes electricity to where it’s needed. For all intents and purposes, it’s a solar generator, that can be used like any mobile generator, to provide power where it’s needed. Roav actually does much more than that, but all its additional functionality is in support of that basic power provision mission.

The biggest difference between Roav and a traditional generator is that with Roav, you don’t need to continuously pour fuel into it in order to get electricity out: the solar generation means that it’s actually a self-sustaining system. Roav is going to be generating power as long as it’s getting sunshine, and so like any solar array, it can be used to cut electricity bills, or to have power off of the electric grid. Also like traditional solar, it can be connected to additional Roav units if more power is needed. Unlike traditional solar, Roav can be readily transported to wherever it’s needed, using a standard tow setup.

That matters, because hard-to-reach places still need reliable power, and often aren’t tied to the grid. Military units operate in remote and contested environments where fuel logistics can be expensive, dangerous, and vulnerable to disruption. Municipalities and universities need temporary power for public events, emergency response, and resilience planning. Commercial operators may need electricity at job sites, farmers may need power in their fields, and there’s as many other use cases as you can imagine.

Just as importantly, Roav is designed as a platform rather than a single-purpose generator. We’ve designed the system to be truly modular, and each unit can support mission-specific equipment such as drone charging, communications hardware, sensors, or other utility systems.

For homeowners, the same flexibility can provide resilient backup power during outages, without requiring every property to permanently dedicate its roof or land to solar generation. Also for homeowners, it’s essentially multiple appliances in one: solar, plus whole-home battery backup, and optionally, built-in EV charging, and even a backup hybrid diesel generator for real emergencies.

The broader idea is simple: power should not require a construction project to be dependable. By making renewable energy transportable, rugged, and adaptable, Roav gives customers another option between fixed infrastructure and fuel-dependent generators—one that can move with the mission, the emergency, or the opportunity.

It’s that simple, and that’s the point- in the year 2026, we need more electricity, and in more places, than ever before. Roav is a modular, sustainable solution for doing just that.
