Meet the Leadership Team

Joey Fiore

Chief Executive Officer

Joey Fiore is co-founder and CEO of PowerLabs, leading overall strategy and execution across the company. During the start of the Covid lockdowns, he left Netflix and started PowerLabs, with the goal of creating a way to turn any underutilized land into plug-and-play, on-demand solar fields. Prior to that, he'd pioneered solutions engineering at Netflix, leading one of the first teams dedicated to practical, rapid-response software development and process optimization. His passion for the environment dates back to Captain Planet informing him that the power is (his, and yours), and helping lead climate-related initiatives at Northeastern University while studying geology and serving as student body president. Fun Fact: Joey is renovating his Second Empire Victorian home on the North Shore, in between armchair quarterbacking the application of technology for archaeology and paleontology.

David Burnham

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer at PowerLabs, David Burnham leads the company’s financial strategy, operations, and administrative functions, overseeing finance, technology, and people and culture. He brings extensive experience as a financial executive and startup advisor, with a background that includes leadership roles in venture capital and large financial services organizations. Prior to joining PowerLabs, David served as a fractional CFO supporting climate tech and consumer companies through critical growth milestones. His passion lies in building mission-driven organizations, implementing scalable systems, and empowering teams to drive lasting impact.

Brian Teeple

Chief Technical Officer

As the Chief Technical Officer at PowerLabs, Dr. Brian Teeple leads the overall product development efforts, directing strategy, prioritization, and engineering resource allocation to drive the transition from prototyping to scale production. He has an extensive background as an executive in the government and industry including serving as Deputy CIO (C4&IIC) for the Department of Defense, CTO and CDO for the Department of Homeland Security, and Vice President of the Redhorse Corporation. His passion throughout his entire career has been working with cutting-edge technologies, transitioning them to operational realities, and solving real-world problems. Fun Fact: Brian played football for the first high school to win 600 games (which had an actual Tiger as a mascot) then went on to play at MIT when the program transitioned from a club team to NCAA Division 3.
